REASON #1: FAILED SUMP PUMP

REASON #2: GROUNDWATER INFILTRATION
LEARN MORE: Groundwater infiltration occurs when the water on the ground seeps into the soil. During times of heavy rain, too much groundwater infiltration could lead to problems for homeowners. As the water seeps into the soil surrounding and underneath your home, it fills the basin that contains your sump pump. Your sump pump then pumps this water away from your home through a discharge pipe to keep the basement dry. If your sump pump is too weak to keep up or you experience a power outage and do not have sufficient backup battery power, the basin will overflow and cause a flood. REASON #3: FAILED FLOAT SWITCH
LEARN MORE: A failed float switch is a common cause of flooding. A float switch is what signals your sump pump to turn on and off. In standard float switches, a bouyant case "floats" on top of the water in your basin. Once water rises to a set level in the basin, the case tilts upwards, sending a signal to "switch" on the sump pump. When the water level decreases and the case is no longer tilted upwards, the signal is sent to switch off the sump pump. This mechanism can sometimes get stuck or break entirely, causing your sump pump to miss an important signal and stop a flood. With DriBot, extra precautions have been taken to solve this issue. First, DriBot uses what is called an I-Level Transducer to monitor the precise water levels in your sump pit. This is a highly sensitive tool that exceeds even some industrial standards. In addition, DriBot has a dual backup float switch. This provides another two layers of defense against flooding in the rare event that the I-Level Transducer stopped working.
REASON #4: SEDIMENT BUILD-UP IN SUMP PIT
LEARN MORE: Sediment build-up in a sump pit could cause damage to the sump pump, float switches, and other mechanical workings, causing malfunctions that lead to floods. Sediment builds as the lines that carry groundwater into your sump basin also carry in silt and sediment. DriBot conducts monthly automatic tests that not only check to make sure your pumps are working properly, but to clear away any sediment that has built up, leaving your pit clean and problem-free. DriBot also comes with a clear basin lid that allows you to see the inner workings of your sump pump. Plus, the lid is sealed for radon and odor protection.
REASON #5: FAILED BATTERY BACKUP
LEARN MORE: Battery backup powered sump pumps are commonly found as an addition to the standard sump pump. Backup batteries do not pump indefinitely and may not be able to support pumping at full-capacity. Most traditional backup batteries are not monitored and can be dead or low when you need them most. DriBot is capable of supporting dual backup batteries that it continuously monitors and tests. If your batteries are low, DriBot will indicate that it is time for a new battery. By having the option for dual backup batteries, you not only have twice the backup pump time, but the batteries are strong enough to pump all three of DriBot's triplex pumps at full-capacity. When power is restored, DriBot will automatically recharge the batteries so they are ready for the next power outage incident.
#6 BROKEN OR CLOGGED DISCHARGE PIPE
LEARN MORE: The discharge pipe is what carries all the water being pumped away from your home. As you can imagine, if this pipe broke or became clogged, it could keep the water collecting in your basin from being pumped away. It would have nowhere else to go and flood your basement. DriBot is prepared for this problem. DriBot comes with an overflow discharge outlet. If a problem with the discharge pipe should occur, water being pumped out of the basin would instead be dispersed out of the overflow discharge outlet right at the base of the home, preventing your basement from flooding.
